On July 29th, the Flensburg-based Community of Practice (CoP) held its third meeting, bringing together stakeholders from agriculture, advisory services, agricultural value chains, finance, science, energy, economic development, the church, NGOs, and the Climate Protection Region. Hosted by Thünen Institute partners Ronja Herzberg, Elke Plaas and Gerald Schwarz the meeting marked an important milestone in our collective efforts to scale a regional soil health business model: a circular system that integrates cow manure, biogas, and composted digestate to enhance soil health.

During the session, participants co-developed practical measures to support the model further, focusing on:
✔ Policy support
✔ Private sector engagement
✔ Communication strategies
✔ Peer learning

Examples include:
🔍 Transparent and expert-driven funding processes
📄 Best-practice guidelines for funding acquisition
✅ Certification for ecosystem services
📢 Public awareness campaigns
🤝 Peer-to-peer learning platforms

The group remains committed to further developing and implementing these measures to support the soil health business model in the region!
