A new Horizon Europe project, SoilValues, coordinated by KU Leuven’s Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, has officially launched in Leuven. The project brings together 32 partners from different countries and fields to work on common goals.

The kick-off meeting was held as a hybrid event, with partners attending in person in Leuven, Belgium, and online via Teams. The meeting lasted for two days, from Thursday, Feb. 23, to Friday, Feb. 24, 2023.

The main objectives of the kick-off meeting were getting to know the full consortium, creating a shared understanding of the project’s goals and ambitions, introducing the four main theoretical work packages (WP1, WP2, WP3 and WP4), identifying the interrelationships between the work packages, and defining the activities to be carried out in the first year of the project. The agenda of the kick-off meeting reflected these objectives, with introductory plenary sessions for each theoretical work package and workshops.

The kick-off meeting marked the beginning of a promising collaboration among partners who will work together to build a more sustainable future.
